Squeee!
I’m sorry, I can’t help it. This is exciting for me. Jessica from Rose-Kim Knits just sent over a photo of my book loaded on her iPod.
And in one of those “don’t do it…really…just don’t” moments, I kept checking in on the book at Amazon. What people don’t realize is that the number is essentially meaningless. It’s one big math fail. Amazon’s algorithm is proprietary and so we don’t really now how it’s calculating the rank.
If you’re at 24,000 and then shoot to 12,000, it doesn’t mean you suddenly started selling twice as many. This article clears up some of the crazy. Essentially, you’re getting compared against the other 9,999 books that sold in the past hour, too, not every other book. Still, to be at 13,000 (I think that’s as low as it went yesterday) or 35,000 or really, anywhere under 100,000 is awfully good for such a specialized topic!
Updated to add: YAY! mentioned on the KnittyBlog. I love you, Knitty.
Hee hee! I’ve downloaded my copy – thank you!
Off to read it on my laptop – oh and I’ll probably load it onto the Iphone so I can read it on the plane on Friday.
Look out for a review of it on my blog sometime soon xxxx
Congratulations!
Squee away! You should be excited! I just ordered my copy. I got your emial update, and I have to say the copy is what swayed me. I don’t design, so I had thought this book wasn’t really for me, but did decide it was after learning more.
That’s awesome! It looks amazing and it’s so on my list for my next Amazon order.
Great! I can’t wait to get my copy! 🙂
I pre-ordered a copy of your book. Should it be arriving soon? I can’t wait to read it!
Just FYI for everyone who preordered: they’re on their way here from the printer now, and I’m going to sign all the preorders before they go out. Right now I’m prepping all the envelopes so they’ll be ready to ship as soon as the cases of books arrive!
(I’m so glad I have a Dymo label printer right now, you can’t even imagine)
I ordered my copy last week, hopefully it will get here soon, I’ve been waiting and waiting!
