About Shannon Okey

Shannon lives in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband Tamas and four cats.

Shannon founded Cooperative Press, an independent book publishing company which also publishes the magazine Knit Edge, and she previously served as editor in chief of UK-based print knitting magazine Yarn Forward.

She also owns and operates Knitgrrl Studio.

Shannon has been a columnist for knit.1 and Knitting Today magazines, and was a founding co-owner of Stitch Cleveland. She was also among the founders of Stitch Cooperative, a designer-operated pattern publishing co-op, and she organizes maker-focused events including Cleveland Bazaar as well as gallery shows featuring fellow fiber artists.
