Kindlegrrl part two, electric boogaloo

Since I’ve been busy enabling half my friends on Twitter to run out and buy Kindles, I thought I’d post a link you can use and pass along if you want to get one, too:

http://tinyurl.com/kindleknitgrrl

You won’t get it in time for Christmas (see? I told you to order one before now!) but, per Amazon:

Due to heavy customer demand, Kindle is sold out. Please ORDER KINDLE NOW to reserve your place in line. We prioritize orders on a first come, first served basis. This item will arrive after December 24. Note that Kindles cannot currently be sold or shipped to customers living outside of the U.S.

I take that “cannot currently be sold” as a very good sign, my Canadian friends.

In design news… it is sort of terrifying what can inspire you sometimes. See this knitted dissected rat? and http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/01/dissected_fiber_frog.html? Well, science lab settled in to my head this weekend and gave me an idea for an “exploded view” stashbusting cardigan pattern. I am working it up in a lovely bulky yarn at the moment and hope to have it ready soon.

Do you dislike bulky yarns? I have to admit that’s usually the case with me. But this Cascade 109 is some amazing stuff. 3 sts and 4 rows = 1 inch. I think the reason I’m liking its drape and overall hand more than many other bulkys is the way it’s plied. Simple 2-ply construction, but with really good twist. It does make a difference!

It’ll be Christmas in February at the Golightly household, thanks to you!

Also, I’m going to order 109 b/c of your Tweets, too. The Shanenabling needs to stop!!
