Minneapolis is fun!
Wow. I think this was the first show this fall where I got to leave the hotel for something fun (trip to Das Schnitzel Platz in Chicago with Nikol excepted)!
Wednesday night when I arrived, I went to Clickety Sticks for their knitting group and stocked up on lots of Maizy and Karaoke for various projects, as well as a 1990-ish Interweave Fair Isle book. Tamara is doing a pattern for my next book, she really gets the natural fibers, which is fantastic. Plenty of organic and plant fiber yarns at Clickety Sticks!
I got to meet Bubbo! (Who is just about as fun as you would expect someone making this feature request to be). We checked out the Georgia O’Keeffe and Frida Kahlo exhibits downtown, then had pizza at the supremely tasty Pizza Lucé.
The next night, despite being so tired I was about to fall over, I got to hit the town with Trish from Crafty Planet, scoring some gifts for my boyfriend from Psycho Suzi’s tiki bar (tagline on the back of the t-shirt? “Where your petty concerns of authenticity are irrelevant”) and stuff from myself from the ‘Planet. Yay!
In other news, if you’re deciding on stamps for your holiday cards, Julie from Subversive Cross Stitch notes that the USPS has knits on stamps this year! Why so boring, though? Why can’t we have Kaffe Fassett-patterned knit stamps?
You got to meet bubbo? How cool!!
