"A knitting salon"

Something new for me to check out (if this blizzard ever ends! there’s 18 inches of snow on my back porch and it’s still falling)…

Circles: a knitting salon in Jamaica Plain. This is probably the best-designed knitting site I’ve ever seen. Clean, modern, endearing — anything with a sheep face on it is fine by me. I’ll let you all know how cool it is after I make it over to JP, but of course nothing will ever beat Mind’s Eye, both because of Lucy and because it’s a 2-minute walk away. JP, while amazingly cool and funky, is my own personal Boston Bermuda Triangle. I always manage to get lost going to or from, despite a usually impeccable sense of direction.

Next weekend is the Superbowl weekend of DIY Boston craftiness: both the Bazaar Bizarre (now with West Coast incarnation! see website) and Punk Rock Flea Market are taking place. That’s one of those things where you just hit yourself on the head and say “I wish I’d been organized enough to get a vendor table!” Next year, next year…

Stacie, Simone & Max as well as Emily from Bitch and Stitch will be vending their wares at Bazaar Bizarre, so say hello if you’re in town.

It can be very satisfying living amongst so many crafty people, not to mention inspirational.
