Say hello to my little friend(s)

I finally did it. I broke down and bought a color laser printer. That’s it at left. Here’s the thing: I hate inkjet print quality, but like and now need color. I love my ancient-yet-functional b/w laser, although you have to go through a lot of rigamarole to connect the AppleTalk (it’s from 1997, so cut it some slack — it still works perfectly! How many PC peripherals can say the same?) to a modern USB or FireWire port. So heck with it, color laser it is.

Also, I have bronchitis. Who gets bronchitis in late May? Well, apparently, me. Good things to have come out of this: I found a new doctor who’s amazing. And — alarmingly — younger than me. Oh no. I have reached the age where there are doctors who are younger than me! He’s also adorable, which makes the pain in my lungs more tolerable. So does the codeine-infused cough syrup he gave me. But I digress…

I promised photos of sheep friends from Idaho, and here goes:

Yum. Lunchtime.

My boyfriend, Tazman. He loves the ear scritches, he does.

Run away! Run away!

Nom nom nom.

The littlest escape artist. Snuck through the fence several times while I was there. I dubbed him “Houdini.”

The end results of my nuno felting class.

My learn-to-spin-alt-fibers class. Half of them, anyway.

Best tattoo spotted at the Snake River Fiber Fest.

Joan’s knitting-from-unspun-fiber class. Check out those colors!

The fleece I brought home from Idaho, pre-washing. Tamas said it looked like “I bagged a yak.”

Skirt, skirt, skirting the fleece.

Some different black-and-white-patterned wool yardage I overdyed in my favorite green.

Just for pretty…one of my irises from the side of the house. I get a lot of color inspiration from the various plantings I’ve done.

I just found your site and I look forward to reading more. I look forward to reading about the transformation from newly-shorn fleece to newly spun yarn if that is how you plan to use it.

    Ummm, sheepy goodness 🙂

Guess what? I too have bronchitis, early June, by criminy….boo hiss! I’m using my coughing time to put the finishing touches on my knitting tattoo…pix soon.

Feel better soon….spin, spin, spin. I broke out my drop spindle this weekend, and who knew? I actually did learn how to do it. I had a much better time with it after it’s bad fiber waiting out period, from the cruise. Hurray for me! I may finally attempt to do something useful with my fleece besides pet it and whisper sweet nothings to it:)

Tell me how you managed to hook up your old LaserWriter. I have a LaserWriter Pro from 1992 and it is a work horse. I took have Xerox color Laser printer, Phaser 6120. I would be thrilled if I could figure out how to get my antique to hook up USB or FireWire.
    Great pics from the festival!!

Thank you!!! I am definitely looking into this. I was told it wasn’t possible!
You’re in Ohio…of course you have bronchitis! It’s even worse in the Cincy area…allergy city of the universe!
