Dorothy, Toto and me…

Greetings from Kansas City, which is sunny and dry and beautiful — a marked contrast to the drizzly hair nightmare weather I left behind in Cleveland. I just taught my first class of the day (felting), and will be teaching knitting in the round tonight. Fun!

Going on around the classes is a sewing- and quilting expo, so there’s lots of interesting stuff to see. The sweet women from Yarn Shop and More lent me their Chibi, as I’d forgotten mine at home and needed a tapestry needle. They’ve got loads of those new Clover needlefelting kits in stock (yum), and they’re right next to a gang of fluffy angora bunnies whose mama will let you cuddle them all you want. (They just sit in your arms, happily, unlike any other bunny I’ve ever met).

On top of it, I get to eat famous Kansas City barbecue and hang out in the hotel pool. Yee-haw! If you’re nearby, come down to the Overland Park convention center. My knit embellishment class tomorrow is in the afternoon, so there’s still time to sign up.

And now… to resist going back for more bunny-snuggling…

    Welcome to KC!

Enjoy the freakishly warm weather. 🙂

Might be going down to the convention center tomorrow.

Hmm, that store is less than 10 miles from my mother-in-law’s house, and I never knew it existed! Thanks for the tip — I hope they’re open Friday after Thanksgiving.
