World Cup knitting

First, we had the knitted soccer ball. Now, it’s tiny footballers. Sue Clarke-Berry knitted a model of every England player who set foot on the field during the tournament.

(I wouldn’t mind a David Beckham doll, myself! Oh…and a magical spell to turn the David Beckham doll into David Beckham, but that’s a whole ‘nother story there). Or amigurumi Beckham?

Using more than 20 balls of wool of different shades to reflect the different skin tone, hair colour, kit and boots and four bags of stuffing, Sue completed the mammoth task by half time during Sunday’s final between Italy and France.

Added bonus: if you get headbutted by a knitted doll, it’s probably not going to hurt very much.

Today is Studio Cleaning Day. If all goes well, I will have a very shiny, well-organized one to show you later…with the yarn, fiber, fabric and other toys in their proper places instead of all over. Wish me luck!
