Portland, Maine Spa Knit & Spin
Proof I need to pay closer attention to the event listings on Knitter’s Review — I nearly missed the Spa Knit & Spin weekend in Portland, Maine!
I needed some size 4 Addi Turbos, and was on my way to Maine to visit my aunt Pat anyway, so I called Julie to ask if Central Yarn in Portland carries them.
Lo and behold, she was at the fiber fest with Clara of Knitter’s Review. Too bad I didn’t have my camera with me, but I did buy some of Clara’s gorgeous notecards and a Girls Who Knit Knitter’s Review mug. (Bringing the total number of mugs in my house to… too many. But who’s counting?)
My aunt’s cat, Luigi, has inspired a new sweater design. I want to spin some wool that will look tabby-like and knit up with big black stripes (his coat resembles snakeskin, pattern-wise) for the body, then add white cuffs and a bottom to approximate his paws. He’s much stripier than he appears in that picture, he’s gorgeous. A feline supermodel.
