Kauni issues

About a week before the Yarn Harlot posted her first Kauni yarn pictures, I posted a photo of a Kauni cardi and a link to one website that carries the yarn.

Now, thanks to the HARLOT EFFECT (if this doesn’t merit italics and bold together, I don’t know what does), there’s a worldwide lockdown on finding the stuff. Astrid’s is backordered all to heck, including my order, and the legions of knitters creating this lovely cardigan (PDF link) have formed a Kauni KAL.

When my Kauni arrives, I’m going to dissect it and analyze the lengths of the color repeats so I can make the sweater in more “me” colorways. The rainbow one will be a training exercise in Not Being Such A Color Snob. And if I get bored, I can work in some floral Kaffe Fassett-y patterns instead of the little squares, no?

(Am I even capable of following a pattern strictly? Not anymore!)

Ah, well, if it makes you feel any better, your earlier post did introduce me to I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER?, which is too much fun. Maybe the geometric design of the other Kauni sweater doesn’t seem as daunting to people as the one you posted, even though it’s done in the same colorway. I have to admit, I jumped on the bandwagon after I saw Stephanie’s sweater, and ordered from the site she linked to.
