Best. Intern. Ever.

Congrats to my 2008 summer intern Carrie Krochta on turning in her thesis! Way to go, Carrie!

Here she is modeling her most excellent binary scarf (with photos by her friend Hannah):

What’s a binary scarf, you ask? From her blog:

I finished my binary code scarf last night. I took the html source code from the Ravelry homepage and converted it to binary (using an ascii to binary converter). I then translated that into knitting by using purl stitches for zeros and knit stitches for ones.*

*Note: on the wrong side, I had to reverse this. I purled for the ones and knitted for the zeros so that it would all be readable from the same side.

How cool is that? Seriously. How cool is that? About as cool as Carrie, but not quite. Congrats again on turning in your thesis. Everyone? Hoist your glasses in the direction of Ohio for Carrie, would you?
