How to Knit in the Woods coming soon

Just in time for tax season, when all you really want to do is run away and live in the woods for a while, it’s How to Knit in the Woods, my latest book. After spending literally all day and night working on my taxes Monday, I am considering hiding out in a cave for the next month. The book has been up for preorder on Amazon for a while, but heads up, it should be shipping soon, as I’ve just gotten my first author copy of the finished product!

There are all kinds of lovely patterns, as well as practical strategic recommendations for working in low-light conditions and other not-optimal knitting habitats. I’m in love with the Snake in the Woods cardigan and the Tai Shan hoodie, myself. The former’s made of Dale of Norway Hauk, a Teflon-coated wool that’s as high-performance as any synthetic out there, and the hoodie is a lovely South West Trading Company bamboo, perfect for warm temperatures. If you saw me at Rhinebeck this year, I was wearing it at the Ravelry party. (You’ve seen a sneak peek of Snake in the Woods already, by the way).

Not to mention there’s two (count ’em, TWO) sock patterns from infamous sock junkie Stariel, who I will miss this weekend in Massachusetts. Grr, argh.

  3. Hi, I know exactly what you mean. I’m a surgical nurse and sometimes the whirlwind days pile up. At least once a week I wish for a cave to “hiberknit”. Lol. Love your patterns and can’t wait for the book!
