Run For the Cure
I’ve “run”¹ with Team Knitty in the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure multiple times, as my schedule permits — we raised over $13,000 one year, and each year, we try for even more!
About the run, from the CIBC site:
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is an extraordinary single-day experience that unites more than 170,000 Canadians in 51 communities across the country. Together, we’re raising millions of dollars to fund innovative and relevant breast cancer research, education, and awareness programs in the communities where you live.
On Team Knitty 2006: our team captain Amy Singer, Crochet Me Kim Werker (knitters and crocheters coming together? see, it is possible!), Laura Chau of CosmicPluto, David Demchuk of Knit Like A Man, Jennifer Hendriks and her husband Jason Gemmill, Keithera Riley, Wendy Wonnacott of Zibbibbo is Good (phoning it in all the way from Italy!) and copyright goddess Jenna Wilson.
To donate, stay tuned for the 2008 event info.
¹ (We don’t really run. We walk with coffee and then convene at Lettuce Knit for cupcakes, fiber fun and book signings).
